Laser Hair Removal

Dr. Kamran Khoobehi provides laser hair removal at his Metairie cosmetic surgery practice.

DR. KHOOBEHI: There are some areas on the body that you have excess hair, and there have been many different procedures trying to get rid of that one. And I have looked into different lasers and different methods and techniques and I find out that laser hair removal that we have works very well and it gives a permanent result. But one of the key things for laser hair removal is that you cannot do it only one treatment, you have to do multiple treatments. So when the patient comes for laser hair treatment, we offer them a package of one-year treatments, and during the one-year period of time, if they have some hairs come back, they can come back, no extra charge, and they can get as many treatments as needed during the one-year period. And I've found out it does work, it's effective, and I've tried it on my own and also on my family members, they all have tried it and have had very good results. In our practice we also offer a treatment called endermologie, and this treatment consists of massage, basically, treatment, that combines a suction with two rollers. And I offer this treatment to my patients that they're planning to go have liposuction, and also offer them after liposuction, and I find out that it gives the best possible result post-liposuction. It prevents any kind of dimpling or unevenness, and the studies on animal models, on pigs, have shown that actual endermologie works to thickening of the tissue. First when it came out was offered as a treatment for cellulite, and in my own experience I've found out that it works on cellulite, but it works even better post-liposuction treating the skin, and prevents any kind of unevenness in the tissue. LISA: ELOS is the technology we use here at Dr. Khoobehi's office and it's been here since I've been here, and ELOS basically means Electrical Optical Synergy, and it means it's combining intense pulse light with radio frequency. Those two energies combat and target all skin types and all hair colors. It gets rid of fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, hair of all color and all skin types.
